Baby Bump
The babies aren't the only ones growing!!! I went through a pretty big growth spurt between weeks 18 and 22. This is the part that I'm not so wild about. The bigger I get the more uncomfortable I am. It will all be worth it when we can hold our sweet little girls though.

We saw Dr. Newman on 9/19 (22 weeks). The babies are growing!!! They both weigh exactly the same - 1 pound, 2 ounces. Dr. Newman says that everything looks great. I will go back to see her in 4 weeks then after that visit I will start going every 2 weeks.

The girls have NAMES!!!!!!
The big question these days is......so, do you have names for the girls? FINALLY, YES WE DO!!! After weeks of talking about it we have decided on Laurel Kate and Clara Jane. We are so excited about them!! Laurel and Clara will be here before we know it!
18.5 Week Ultrasound
Heath and I had an appointment with Dr. Newman (my regular OB). The babies are growing so fast! The ultrasound went great! They were able to confirm that we are having 2 girls. They measured arms, legs, head, heart, etc. Everything looks great so far. The babies have gained a little weight in the past few weeks!! When we went to the High Risk doctor at 15 weeks they both weighed 4 oz. Today one weighed 10 oz and the other was 9 oz. They said that is a couple of days ahead of where they should be, but nothing to worry about. They would rather them be a little farther ahead than behind in weight.
I have now gained 11 pounds. My "bump" is just now really starting to show. :) We have decided to cut back on my trips to the High Risk doctor because everything seems to be progressing so well. So, I have my next appointment with Dr. Newman in 4 weeks. Time is going by so fast and we have so much to do before these little girls get here.

Ultrasound - 15 Weeks
Today was the day that we had been waiting for since the moment we found out that I was pregnant.....we get to find out what the babies are today. My appointment wasn't until 4:00 in the afternoon. Needless to say....it was a LONG day!
We get into the ultrasound room and the Ultrasound Tech begins measuring Baby A. She measures everything from the head, brain, arms, legs, stomach, etc. Everything looked great. Now it was the moment of truth - she typed on the screen - "I'm a girl"! I immediately looked over to Heath. He was excited (I think it was because he knew that he still had one more shot for a little boy!). As she starts on Baby B she says "Oh no, this one is being bashful. It has its legs crossed. We'll have to come back in a little while". I was so afraid we were going to find out that one was girl and have to wait 3 more weeks to find out what the other one was. All of the measurements were completed and finally Baby B uncrossed its legs. The tech looked over to Heath and said, "Well Dad, you're in trouble - you have two girls". Of course Heath would have loved to have at least one little boy, but he is so excited about two little girls. I know that they will have him wrapped around their fingers in no time!!
Heart Rates: Baby A: 152, Baby B: 148. They are each the size of an orange at 15 weeks!!

Ultrasound - 11 Weeks
A twin pregnancy is automatically considered "High Risk". This involves me going to a specialist as well as my regular doctor. On July 6th I went to the first High Risk appointment. Heath had to work and wasn't able to go with me. I was so surprised at how much they had grown from the ultrasound 4 weeks prior. They actually looked like babies now! :) Baby A was very calm and didn't move a whole lot. Baby B was a wild child - it did not stop the entire ultrasound. It was so funny to watch!
Their heart rates were 161 and 163. They are each the size of a lime at 11 weeks!

Ultrasound - 7 weeks
Our first ultrasound was on June 7th. I was so anxious to hear a heartbeat! The nurse started the ultrasound then quickly stopped to ask if this was the first ultrasound for us. Heath and I both answered, yes. She went on to say.....well, heartbeat number one looks great and......so does heartbeat number two. We were shocked to say the least!
I'll be honest, I'm not very good with surprises. Tears fell down my face to the biggest smile ever. I really didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Heath took his hat off and walked toward the flat screen on the wall to get a better look at the ultrasound. He was quiet for a minute or so. :)
They are each the size of a blueberry!
Heart Rates:
Baby A: 135
Baby B: 150

We're having TWIN GIRLS!!!!!
On May 16th, we realized that our lives were going to change forever (we just didn't know how drastic the change was going to be at this point). The first ultrasound appointment, we were hit with the second surprise - TWINS!! Twins were the last thing either of us thought of before going in for the appointment, but we are so excited. At the 15 1/2 week appointment we were told that both babies were GIRLS! Heath is in trouble now!!! :)
I have been asked to start this website so you can keep up with the progress of our angels!
